Re: ART_blog

'm fine with participating in this if we can talk about the painting you are painting me and how having art made by artists you love is like double art, kinda like double mint gum but it lasts a lot longer.

this is andy and I's project which is going to be in a gallery show opening tomorrow night in oakland! you should come and then blog about if it is art or if it is more an argument for art because people come to look at it. and on my side, extremely hilarious because people will look at anything on walls without thinking of the minimal requirements to get on those walls. you could throw shit at walls and have a crowd. and some flies.

So, this is one of the responses that I received about the first post... I'll keep the responses anonymous for the sake of the writer. But, please feel free to POST COMMENTS, that's kind of the point.

To Jason,
A friend with whom my contact has been made not in a timely manner. Hath found ye good fortune in the world afar. What awaits a young fellow in the spring of his life. With summer warm gold lapping at the shore to our lake of mercy. Is this a place that exists only in desire and memory or is this the consummation of my waking dream a reality for those who are bold. Nigh on oblivion and I. For math and science have taken the place where art and leisure once ruled. Lordly over fields of un slain powder I did glide. When those golden rays of bliss would penetrate cloud and rain I would make haste for the hills which can claim to be the very origin of that gold. And ye shall ye pass through the sacred valley and into it healing waters. My brother i fear that math and science shall rule over my summer months and you shall have to record for me the beauty of heaven.
Good tidings and godspeed,
XXXXXXXXXX

A R T

This blog is a space for everybody, affluent or lay-person, to discuss art, whatever that word may mean, and figure out its relevancy to our lives. Its a place for me to spill thoughts, random images and ramble on for countless paragraphs (that you may choose not to read) about nothing more than something useless. Useless in the sense of no direct function in our lives. Yes, art have its place in the world, and there are many theories on its function, but think about the question "what does art do for us?" or better yet, try to define art in one sentence. While these questions may seem straight-forward, they are easier asked than answered. And while one person thinks they might have the answer, it will not, no doubt, be right nor wrong.

I know a few of you out there are thinking, "WOW, he's got WAY to much time on his hands." But the simple truth of the matter is... well, I do. And these are questions that, as artists of any form, we must begin to ask ourselves.

From the previous BLOG site that I've had experience with, I've learned that a blog can be very gratifying. It's like you're own personal virtual space to throw-up (literally) thoughts or images that you find interesting. But, I found the last blog experience even more gratifying when I knew people were actually reading it. For those of you who are still reading at this point, I'd like to treat this one more as a forum than a blog. I ask that if any of this strikes a spark in your brain, then please comment and ask questions. More than anything, I want to here everyone's opinions, not just listen to the voices in my own head.

what relevance does art have in our lives? and
try to define art in one sentence.

P.S. If you havent check out the old blog, you should
